Description
Using sentence sequences is a natural way to get students to practice using complex sentences. There are two lesson forms available with this download; task cards and EASEL.
EASEL can be used with digital devices and gives immediate feedback to an answer choice by indicating correct answer when it is chosen.
The task cards can be given to individual students or used in small groups. There is a self checking feature available through the use of a Bar Code reader. QR codes can be read by downloading apps available for electronic devices. Students can correct the error sentence for additional practice.
On the two sided task cards, one side sequences an event in three sentences. The flip side gives three complex sentence examples. Students are instructed to form complex sentence using connecting words such as; and, so, but, because, before, after, when, while, that, and then. Three examples sentences are given.
One of the sentences does not have the same meaning as the other two or is an incorrect use of the words. The students are instructed to find the incorrect sentence. The answer can be checked by scanning the QR code in the lower right corner of the card or by using the given answer sheet.
There are 32 cards, 2 1/2 x 3 1/4 inches printed out on 11 pages. The cards are meant to be printed on card stock. You can create a front and a back side by folding the middle line. Fold and glue the cards back to back so they become two sided.
This set of cards is part of the Complex Sentence Bundle. You receive a discount by buying 3 sets at once.
