Description

Sentence stems are a straight-forward yet powerful tool to support language development. These stems were created to support kindergartners as they grow in their writing skills, learning how to string sight words together to create sentences. One of the most difficult parts of teaching writing in kindergarten is just getting students started! Sentence stems are the perfect solution for that.

Also included are posters with possible writing topics for each of the four standards. Many teachers have had students who can't ever seem to get inspired to write, so these posters were created to support those writers, too!

Click here to read about how I support writers in my kindergarten classroom with sentence stems and other tried-and-true strategies.

Included in this resource are 16 posters (8 color, 8 black and white) to support your writers. It covers the following writing standards:

Opinion Writing: sentence stems, topics for writing

Informative Writing: sentence stems, topics for writing

Explanatory Writing: sentence stems, topics for writing

Narrative Writing: sentence stems, topics for writing

These sentence stems come in color and black and white! You can also enlarge the prints to poster size at your local copy store for anchor chart sized posters!
