This simple foldable allows students to define, compare, and create examples of the three sentence types: simple, compound, and complex. There are two options for this foldable: a fill-in-the-blank format or one were students can write the entire definition or create their own.
Inside the foldable, each sentence type has 4 examples and then space for students to create their own. For simple sentences, I had students identify the subject and the verb. For compound sentences, I had students identify the independent clauses and circle the coordinating conjunction. For complex sentences, I had students identify the independent and dependent clauses and then circle the subordinating conjunction.
