Make reviewing the four types of sentences (declarative, interrogative, imperative, and exclamatory) fun with this trashketball grammar game!
Research shows that students often learn best when they can move, and this game motivates them with their love of sports. When you put your students in heterogeneous groups for a game with friendly competition, it is an excellent way to meet the needs of all of your students and reward them for their success.
In this game, there are three rounds. In each round, students identify the correct sentence types (by sentence functions). In the last round, they also write the correct end punctuation. The game engages students as they compete to shoot baskets into a trash can. All that you will need is the ability to project a Power Point presentation, a ball (soft texture), some dark tape, and a trash can.
Depending on the ability of your students, the game usually takes 45 minutes to play. The Power Point presentation includes the following slides: four review slides, game slides, rules for the students, teacher instructions, and a key.
With this game, you will be amazed that your students will want to learn grammar! If you like this game, please see my store for a selection of Trashketball games:
