This is a simplified sentence building graphic organizer that helps students identify the structure of a basic sentence of about 4-6 words in length. The basic layout of the graphic organizer is 1) Sort parts-of-speech words 2) write a sentence that makes sense using the basic words from step 1, and 3) draw it! My students loved incorporating art with their writing, and this acted as a motivator as well to complete their writing work. The second page of this document is a list of adjectives, nouns, verbs, and places for your students to initially use as either a reference sheet or cut out the words to sort in the columns on the previous page. This graphic organizer could be laminated and used over and over to reduce paper use. This product has been used with special needs students, but could be used in an Early Childhood or ESL classroom as an extension activity. Enjoy! Please rate!
