This learning guide is a great tool to use to address the Common Core Speaking and Learning Standards, as it requires students to view three short youtube videos and compare the content, the tone, and the message of each. There are ten questions total, all short answer. These can be used for homework or as class discussions. The videos all cover aspects of the National September 11th Memorial Museum, from its planning stages to the finished product. This lesson that can be done in a regular class period, and addresses not just the history of 9/11, but how we choose to honor the event and the victims. A great tool for the English or Social Studies teacher who wishes to address September 11th, but only has one class period to give to the topic. Suggested answers for each question are included.
