: Poster Activity- Remembering September 11th - 9/11
If you are like me, you will never forget this day. I know where I was and what I was doing. It really is a day we need to remember and acknowledge. Although we don't need to scare the kids of today with the topic, I do feel it is important to touch on the topic and help them recognize the date.
There are also many positives that can be focused on, which is where this little poster/writing activity comes in. Possibly you want to view an age appropriate video or read a book and then use this as a follow-up activity. There are two writing prompts on the poster 1) I am proud to be an American. 2) Thank you first responders.
NOTE: I have marked this activity for grades 2-5, but please look closely at the thumbnail and writing prompts to see if you think this will work for your class.
This 8.5 x 11 poster activity can be hung in the hallway as a nice way to remember the date, or because it thanks first responders, you may even want to take them to a local fire department or even mail them to a NY fire department.
2 versions are included: one with boy images, one with girl
