This 4 page September 11 resource involves students creating a photo essay based on the events of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The resource includes a student handout that details the expectations of the photo essay and the process by which students should create their photo essay. It involves students first identifying major themes related to the terrorist attacks of September 11 through a collaborative place-mat activity. Once students have identified the themes related to September 11, they then create their photo essays using a series of images and captions to convey their interpretations.

This 16 page resource centers on the Patriot Act and the controversy surrounding its role in post September 11th (9/11) United States. The resource contains a two page reading on the creation of the Patriot Act following the September 11 terrorist attacks and the differing perspectives that exist in relation to the Patriot Act in modern society. Along with the reading comes a set of 4 analysis questions that requires your students to analyze elements of the reading on the Patriot Act. The final question contains a graphic organizer that requires students to record the positives and negatives of the Patriot Act. The questions include a teachers key for ease of assessment.
Next, the resource contains detailed instructions and prompts for facilitating a four corners debate related to the Patriot Act and the influence it had on society in the years after the terrorist attacks of September 11.
