Product Description
September 11, 2001 is a day that was extraordinarily personal to me, and most likely to you as well. But to our students, September 11th is a day recorded in the history books. They all know they missed it and students are incredibly curious about this event that has been changing their world since.

Setting aside policies and politics, President George W. Bush’s speech on September 20, 2001 – “Address to a Joint Session of Congress and the American People” (better known as "Freedom and Fear Are at War") – was one of the most moving speeches I have ever heard in my life. It was filled with sorrow and hope, mixed with courage and determination. Your students need to read and analyze this speech for themselves to understand a history they desperately want to learn.

This is an unedited version of the speech. Includes speech, student questions, and teacher key.
