Product Description

This opener shares a story that many of my students were unfamiliar with when it came to discussing 9/11. This story talks about everyday heroes and is great to use as a way to show that we all have the ability to become heroes. This mini-documentary is about 12 minutes long and is narrated by Tom Hanks. Students will watch and take notes on what stands out them. I also included a Mr. Rogers quote that I bring up in class whenever there has been a tragedy in our country. Students will look at the quote and answer a couple of questions regarding it. It also requires students to reflect on his/her own life and events that have marked it.
