The Little Chapel that Stood is a beautiful poem by A.B. Curtiss, written about September 11th. It is less focused on the tragedies of the day, and highlights the acts of bravery that took place, which makes it appropriate for younger children.
This pamphlet activity correlates with the book, and is common core aligned. It asks students to analyze the poem for literary elements like theme and figurative language, as well as use text evidence to write facts about the chapel, and explain what a part of the poem means to them.
