September 15th Independence Day Spanish Lesson

September 15th Independence Day Spanish Lesson
Product Description
Several Spanish-speaking countries celebrate Independence Day on September 15th. This is a short reading in Spanish for beginning students.

I use this in my Spanish 1 classes. We read it aloud as a class, circling the cognates as we go. Afterwards students fill in the bottom to review cognates and numbers.

When I teach this lesson, I usually show my classes a video clip of "El Grito" (on YouTube) that takes place in Mexico in the capital for Independence Day. If we have time we talk about how the celebration is similar/different to July 4th and we talk about the words in "El Grito."

This activity is editable and easily modified.
