Here is a little freebie for you as you start planning for your back to school activities! This trace and blank calendar template is a great way for you to assess your students' handwriting skills as well as number recognition.
I have always used it as simple informal assessment to see how well my students know their numbers, their printing skills, and listening skills. Once I have introduced the concept of even and odd numbers, I have the students color the even numbers blue and odd numbers red. You can also have the children color a pattern, etc. I have seen other teachers take an 12 X 18 sheet of paper fold it in half, glue the calendar to the bottom, and do a craftivity on the top (apple, school bus, directed drawing, etc). The possibilities are endless!
I have included the following templates:
*calendar with numbers 1-30 to trace
*calendar with numbers 6-30 to trace (1-5 are missing to assess if children can write numbers 1-5 independently and in correct order)
*calendar with numbers 11-30 to trace (1-10 are missing for assessment purposes)
*blank calendar (can be used to assess students knowledge of #'s 1-30)
If you like this resource, be sure to check my store as I add more calendar templates in the next few weeks! Enjoy!
