*Will be 1/2 price for first two weeks for followers!* Do your kids need practice with CLOZE passages or the MAZE? If so....try these out! There are 20 different cards, themed around September. I use these practice cards with my little strugglers and also in a literacy center. I cut up pieces of cardstock or construction paper. I glue the one with the blanks on the front, and then one with the answers on the back. Then, I laminate them. My kiddos use transparency markers to fill in the answers. Then, they flip the cards over to check to see if their answers were right. They LOVE this! I see them saying ‘YES!’ or ‘Dangit!’. It cracks me up to watch them do this center.
I’ve had a few buyers who use it for morning work, which I think I will soon do as well. You could do one every morning, then bring the answers up on the SmartBoard to see how many match. *I’ve created the Week Day Cloze for those of you who want to use it for morning work. I’m going to hand it out on Monday, and it will be their responsibility to keep track of it until Friday. Every day they will complete that day’s Cloze, then I will put the answers on the SmartBoard and they will check to see how many they got right.
These cards are nice because they have to use their comprehension skills to fill in the blanks. Sometimes they will also have to use the pictures to help them. As with anything else, the more they do these, the better they will get! Then, when it comes time for the MAZE on AIMS Web or a CLOZE passage.. .your kiddos will ROCK it!
Thanks again! Check us out for any other reading centers, Common Core resources, games, or an entire Writing Curriculum for Second Grade. This writing curriculum would meet EVERY Common Core Standard. Every single day is planned out for you. There is no prep and the worksheets are ready to go! Everything is included.
