This pack contains 20 literacy centers designed for kindergarten. They are not thematic and can be used at any time and in a variety of classroom settings!

I created this centers pack to be used in September, although there are no specific seasonal or holiday themes attached to the activities. The skills covered are appropriate for kindergarten students at the beginning of the school year, based on my experience.

There are five center types: Sight Words, Sort It Out, Letters and Sounds, Literacy Spotlight, and I’m a Writer. Each skill area has a new center activity for each week. There is a symbol for each skill area to help with organization.

What's Included:

1. Centers: There are four weeks’ worth of centers with a total of 20 centers. I placed the activities in the grid in a specific order but you can rearrange them and use them whenever you choose. For example, you can use an activity from Week 2 in Week 4 instead if you prefer.

2. Centers Organization and Management Ideas: Your download includes a file with center bin labels, storage labels, student tracking cards, and much more!

3. Student Instruction Cards: There is a half-page student instruction card with a real photo for each of the activities.

I have a discounted GROWING BUNDLE of literacy centers available! Click here for more information.

1. Are the activities editable?

The sight word center activities are editable. The majority of the other activities are not editable. There are editable versions of the bin labels. The student tracking cards are also editable so you can type your students' names.

2. How many activities are included each month?

There are 20 center activities each month, which is four activities for each of the five categories.

3. What activities are included this month?

Download the Preview File above for a peek at all 20 centers!

4. How are the center activities organized?

They are organized by skill type into five categories: Sight Words, Sort It Out, Letters and Sounds, Literacy Spotlight, and I'm a Writer. Check out the Preview File for more information about the different types of centers!

5. Are blackline options available?

Yes, every center includes both color and black-and-white versions.

6. Are worksheets or practice pages included?

The Sort It Out, Letters and Sounds, and Literacy Spotlight centers all include corresponding practice pages that are optional. The I'm a Writer centers include writing pages. The majority of the Sight Word centers don't include a worksheet since many of the activities integrate sensory experiences such as sand writing and hair gel bag writing.

7. Is there a blog post where I can get more information?

Yes! Click here for the September blog post, plus a free sample!

8. What if I have more questions?
