Morning work has become a favorite part of my day! It is a consistent way to start my classroom morning routine. Students come in, unpack, and begin their work right away. I view this 10 to 15 minute period as a chance for students to decompress and get ready for the day. It also gives me a few minutes in the morning to check for notes, complete attendance, and finish any last minute prep. The work is not meant to be challenging or teach things I have not taught. The purpose of morning work is to help students get their days started and to become a part of classroom routines.
The September Morning Work packet includes Back to School activities, as well as basic literacy and math activities. The packet is 22 pages long. It can be made into a book or used as individual worksheets!
