“Listen & Sequence 123” is follow up to my best selling product "Sequence 123". This product helps students to learn the skill of sequencing pictures after they have listened to a story.
How to Use this Product:
Print, cut and laminate each set of cards and matching story cards (page 4-21).
Students listen to a story. Next the student sequences a set of 3 pictures according to what they heard in the story: Which picture is 1st, 2nd and then 3rd. If students have difficulty sequencing the pictures encourage them to look at the characters, events and movements within each picture and think back to what they heard in the story.
Once students have put the pictures into the correct sequence re-read the story to see if the pictures are in the correct order.
Alternative ways to use the sequencing pictures are:
“Tell the story"-Students put the 3 pictures in order and then make a story about the pictures. Start with a clear beginning sentence to match the 1st picture, a middle sentence for the 2nd picture and to end the story, a sentence to match the 3rd picture.
“Predict what will happen next” - Encourage students to describe or draw a 4th picture to the story by “guessing” what might happen next in the story.
“Wh questions” - Ask the student questions related to the sequenced picture set to extend on their understanding of the pictures.
There are also printable sequencing sheets in black and white included for whole of class learning. Students can listen to the story, cut up the pictures and then glue them in order at the bottom of the sheet.
Sequencing cards and telling stories are also great to use when working on generalising articulation skills or focusing on fluency in stuttering therapy.
