These cards are perfect for introducing sequencing and retelling skills. Students will learn to use the words first, next, then and finally.
HOW TO USE:
1.Copy and laminate the “Sequence Picture Cards”. Model how to put the cards in order and retell what is happening in the pictures using the words first, next, then and finally. Allow students to make up their own stories to match the pictures.
2.Display the “Sequence Words” in a pocket chart. Mix up the words and have the class put them back in order. Talk about which word should come first, second, third etc.
3.Use the “Work Mat” for students that are ready to read/identify the sequence words.
PG. 18-29 Sequence Story Flip Books:
These flipbooks are perfect for generating stories as well as sequencing and retelling a story. They will trace or write the words first, next, then and finally.
HOW TO USE:
1.Give each student a “Sequence Story Flip Book”. They will complete the following:
• trace or write the words first, next, then and finally
• color each page
• cut on the solid lines
• hole punch each circle
• sequence the pages
• ring them, in order, with a pipe clean cut in half
2.Students will generate and tell a story using the pictures clues and the words first, next, then and finally.
