Sequence and Series Task Cards are an effective way for students to practice and solidify their understanding of arithmetic and geometric sequences and series. This activity requires that students differentiate between arithmetic and geometric sequences and series and use both explicit and recursive formulas to solve problems. There are endless ways to use task cards. I use these cards as an in class review assignment to get my students ready for their test.
There are five different types of task cards in this set:
Cards 1-6: determine if a sequence is arithmetic, geometric, or neither
Cards 7-12: find the common difference between terms
Cards 13-18: find the n-th term in a sequence
Cards 19-22: write a recursive formula for two given terms
Cards 23-30: find the sum of the series
