This is a fun, easy to prepare, hands-on activity that uses a cut and paste worksheet to teach sequencing using transitional words that integrates writing and adds rigor to your ELA block. Students will read and follow the transitional words to complete the activity with a partner or as an independent activity.
Students will then write an informative piece using temporal words and phrases to signal events in order. This set includes colorful Bulletin Board Time Order Words, Black and White Words, and matching student smaller copies for small groups. This set will help students follow the steps in a process and using transitional words and with retelling stories.
This one resource can be used for K-5th Grade. Kindergarten and First Grade can do with you as a whole or small group activity. Second grade and up this lesson is meant to be done by following the steps in the process with partners or as an independent activity.
