These writing goals displays are great for students to be able to self-assess, then publish a goal to work, on a small cardboard desk card with five boxes for you to tick as you see it achieved in their work.
This makes their writing goals measurable and able to be individualised for each student's needs in the average diverse-ability classroom.
Goals are numbered from 1 to 11, following the Common Core and Aus Curric developmental sequence. Once a student achieves their individual goal, they can then choose to move on to the next one, or if they (and you) believe they already achieve this in their writing, choose the next relevant area of improvement to their needs.
Easy to edit and add to as your class needs change, but I've used this set of goals for 5 years now and this is the best version I've created from testing it in use in grades 2, 5 and 6.
