This set of 12 linking cards provides practice with arithmetic sequences. The cards have been created with solutions linking to problems. This activity is ideal for Interactive Student Notebooks.
Through using these cards, students will practice the following skills: extend a sequence, find a specific term in the sequence, determine if the sequence is arithmetic, find the missing term and determine the common difference.
Students cut apart and shuffle the 12 cards. Students begin with any problem card in the set. The solution to that problem, found on another card, will be linked to the first card. Students will solve the second problem, and continue solving and linking until the last card links with the solution on the first card.
Kinesthetic learners enjoy this activity. The cards facilitate conversation among students, and by their design, provide feedback to students working independently or with partners.
This product contains a fun envelope which allows the linking cards to be used more than once, as a type of flashcard "game", building students' math reasoning skills. Alternatively, the cards can be glued down in a rectangular or circular fashion onto a sheet of notebook paper.
