This is an activity that reviews explicit and recursive notation with arithmetic and geometric sequences. Students must use appropriate terminology and notation throughout the activity. The teacher has a set of practice cards available to them to use in order to model the correct procedures for the activity to the class.
-determine whether a sequence formula is written in explicit or recursive form
-determine whether a sequence is arithmetic or geometric
-calculate the common difference or the common ratio
-write equations of arithmetic and geometric sequences in explicit or recursive notation
-determine the first four terms of a sequence
This activity includes four sets of 2-player cards, instructions, and a set of practice cards.
