This activity provides students practice with arithmetic and geometric sequences and series. The main focus is on writing explicit rules, finding nth terms, and finding the sum of n terms. There are a variety of different questions for them to solve.
You should print double sided and then cut out the cards beforehand.
In order to do this activity, students should start with all the cards "answer" side up on their desk. They will choose a card to start with and then flip it over. They will solve the problem and then find the answer to that problem on another card. They should take their new card, flip it over, and place it on the card they just solved. They keep doing this until the answer to the last problem is on the back of the card they started with.
This is a great way for students to be self-checking as well as a fun way to practice sequences and series! Good partner activity.
