If your students need more practice with sequencing in information texts or you're looking for some simple reading games our Sequencing Activities are for you! I originally made them when I noticed my students just needed some simple activities to become more familiar and comfortable with sequencing in history and science. Included in the Sequencing Activities are 3 different games and a set of task cards and a recording sheet.
Events in Order Game:
In this game are 10 different history and science passages. The events of the passage are then written in different cards. Students must read the passage and then put the event cards in order. You can mix them all up or students can just sequence passage by passage.
This activity has 8 different history and science passages. Below the passages are important events and then smaller details from the text. Students must find the first event and draw a line to sequence the events, ending at the final event.
In this game are 12 different 3 event puzzles of history and science events. Students must put together the puzzles.
Also included are 16 task cards. The task cards are the same passages from the previous games. The task cards have one question each that ask about the sequence of events. Included are recording sheets and an answer key.
I hope you enjoy these activites!
