This is a hands-on activity that provides three very simple stories, each of which need correct sequencing. (Please see the preview.) I developed it so that my students could actually PUT events in order, rather than simply writing numbers beside sentences in a workbook. Students enjoy this activity, remain engaged as they work, and offer me the chance to easily assess which ones have mastered the skill, and which ones need more help. Materials needed are construction paper, glue sticks, and scissors. The product consists of 1) a page of stories for cut-and-paste, 2) complete teacher and student instructions, and 3) an answer key. I usually walk around to observe as the activity progresses, as that makes help available for students who have trouble with directions.
