I work on 3-step sequencing frequently, but my student are often at very different levels. These mini-books with emotion words will give you lots of options for addressing this common goal at a variety of levels.

Level 1: black & white mini-books contain both pictures and text
Level 2: color mini-book; contains text but the student cuts, arranges and pastes pictures in the book
Level 3: color mini-book; student cuts, arranges and pastes pictures in the book and then adds the accompanying text

Books are easily folded from a single sheet of paper (great fine motor practice!)

There are four stories for each emotional “zone” or state (low, calm, heightened, extreme). Level 2 and 3 stories have color coded boxes (blue, green, yellow, red) as a suggestion. Remember, what causes a state in one person, might not hold true for another! This product is NOT endorsed by Zones of Regulation or Social Thinking, though the research of both has inspired this product.

Includes the following stories (each has three level options):
Low state: Grandma’s Visit (sad), No Playdate (lonely, disappointed), Going Out to Dinner (bored), My Sick Friend (sad, sympathetic)
Calm state: Park Playdate (happy), Waiting for the Mail (curious), Reading Time (calm, focused), Saving Up (proud)
Heightened state: The Movie Theater (worried), The Big Game (frustrated), Help from Grandma (embarrassed), Classroom Participation (confused, anxious)
Extreme state: Mom’s Bad Day (angry), Class Party (silly, over stimulated), A Loud Storm (terrified), Card Game (anger, yelling)
