Kindergarten game for 'Known Numbers and the Count Sequence'. Students write the missing numbers for two places after a given number. Color and printer friendly black and white dinosaur themed cards. Print, laminate and go! Comes with a recording sheet and answer key, plus directions, and can be played as a whole class game or used individually in math centers!

Scoot! is a fun game that gets students out of their chairs and moving around the classroom to answer questions based on what they have been studying. It is great for review and for teacher observation. It can be played as a whole class or in small group situations. Alternatively you can use the cards in a math station or center.

There are 24 scoot cards in both color and black and white with a recording sheet and answer key.

Directions:

• Run the cards either directly onto cardstock or construction paper and trim off the white PDF border around the outer edge. Laminate and cut each sheet into four cards. You will have 24 cards. (Alternatively run the cards onto copy paper, cut apart and glue to a 4x6 index card before laminating.)

• Shuffle the cards and place one on each student’s desk upside down. You may want to use extra surfaces if you don’t have enough desks. Have students stand behind their desk with their recording sheet and a pencil. At your command, they turn their card over, answer the question and record it in the corresponding number spot on their recording sheet. You may need to remind them that the cards are not in order, and they will not start with number 1.

• After a sufficient amount of time, call out, “Scoot!”. The students move along to the next desk and work on the next problem. At the beginning students may need several minutes. As they become more proficient, you can shorten the duration of time between each scoot. Be sure the students are clear about which direction they are moving. When the students end up at their own desk the game is over. Review the answers together.
