This product is designed to support teaching students how to provide 3 and 4-step sequences using sequence words and describing sentences in a clear and logical order. The packet includes 10 sets of 3-4 step picture sequence cards, as well as printable sequence word cards and a graphic organizer to visually support speaking or writing about the sequences in a clear way. I have found that this graphic truly helps students who struggle with sequencing!
•Pages 4-11: 4 3-step and 6 4-step picture cards for the following common sequences: Brushing Teeth, Growing a Flower, Making Chocolate Milk, Washing Dishes, Making a Snowman, Mailing a Card, Making Pizza, Making a Jack-O’-Lantern, Washing Hands, and Making a Sandwich. I recommend laminating for repeated use, or simply printing and cutting for one-time use. I have also included sample written sentences to describe each step as an additional visual. I typically cut these pictures and sentences apart and have students put them in order.
•Page 12: Sequence words that can be printed and laminated for repeated use. I find that sequences or “How-To” type speaking/writing is much more clear when students use sequence words like “First” or “Then” – these word cards are a great visual cue as students learn sequencing.
•Pages 13-15: A graphic organizer that can be used with the included picture card sequences (3 and 4 steps included), or can be adapted to use with any book or sequence you are teaching during instruction. It is designed to be flexible/adaptable! The graphic includes spaces for a sequence word, a picture, and a simple sentence to describe the step. I have also included a sample of how you can use the organizer.
I hope it is a great resource for your speech room!
