This product is based on the book “The Mitten”© by Jan Brett
available at book sellers everywhere. Read the book to your students and then discuss as a group. Have the mitten pattern ready (I traced it onto fun foam and cut out 6 for my class. They used it and passed it around.) Place the flatter side on the fold of a 12x18 piece of white construction paper that has been folded in half to 9x12. Have students trace it and cut it (except the fold) Students will open and write the numbers 1-12 as indicated on the last slide. You can then have them sequence using either the pictures or the words. You can even have them use both, but be sure they are spacing the numbers far enough apart for two circles. You can differentiate, or have enough for students to self differentiate. This project works great whole group or as an ELA center.
