This zip file contains a student notes handout that follows along a PowerPoint presentation. The presentation provides an easy-to-understand sequence of events in the life and death of low and high mass stars. This lesson does not have information about the formation of stars; I typically cover that the day before this material since the life and death cycle varies depending on a star's mass.
When the notes and discussion are completed, I have students work together to compare/contrast the life cycles of low mass and high mass stars. A Double-Bubble Thinking Map or Venn Diagram work great to help students organize this information.
Contains: 2 page student notes handout, 3 slide PowerPoint presentation, and 3 page PDF copy of the PowerPoint presentation.
