This bundle covers the DOCTOR & PLACE acronyms along with examples, practice quizzes, two tests with student evals at the end, ser vs. estar with DDLM details from a short film, and ser/estar group labels for class activity.
I teach ser and estar "triggers." "De" triggers ser and "en" triggers estar. I give them the saying, "there is a star (estar) en the sky," to help them remember.
For the ser/estar labels, I gave each student a sticky note with a word that had to be categorized as ser-D-O-C-T-O-R or estar-P-L-A-C-E. They had to stick the note under that label. As a class, we went over each note, said what it meant in English, discussed if it was SER or ESTAR and what letter of the acronym defended our reasoning.
