I created a second set of perimeter and area word problems where students must show their work. The students must explain why it is perimeter or area, draw and label the rectangles, and solve using the formulas. There are six problems and the answer key is included. These problems will help students to think through the decision process. I have tried to make the question set up like task cards. You can have students do one and then share out how they solved them, or use it as a classwork or assessment grade.
