This is a set of 9 different reading response sheets that your students can use before, during and after reading. They can be used to meet a variety of different ability levels.
Use the 'Guess the title' activity when reading a story to the students with the front cover hidden. Do not show the title or illustration. After reading get students to write what they think the title of the story is and draw the matching illustration for the front cover.
Use the 'What happens next' worksheet when reading a story and stopping to think about what will happen next. Students need to use the knowledge they have already gained from the story to predict the next part in both writing and drawing.
Use the KWL chart to find out what students know, would like to know and have learnt. Complete at the beginning and end of the activity or story being read.
Predicting is an important skill for students when reading. Use these sheets for predicting with your students.
1. What do you think the story will be about?
2. What do you think will happen next?
3. How do you think the story will end?
Write the name of the story at the top. Then have students draw in the crystal ball what they predict and write about it underneath.
It comes in 2 different documents; 1 with big lines and 1 with smaller lines to suit your students' needs.
