Written for high school, this three-page guide to a goal-setting activity assists students in achieving the insight and agency they need to improve an area of performance in English. The teacher may use goal setting at the beginning of the year and revisit goals immediately prior to review time or shortly thereafter. Alternatively, new goals are often appropriate prior to second semester.
The instructions recommend that students include the appropriate standards to solidify the goal process. Students will need teacher direction and on-line or print access to do so. Alternatively, the step may be omitted or objectives substituted.
