This graphic organizer focuses on encouraging students to provide evidence of how they have identified the setting. This can be used with younger students who are just learning to identify setting using pictures and text, to older students who are reading more challenging texts. An author will not always explicitly tell you where the story is taking place. Students have to use clues from the text to figure it out. This graphic organizer helps them keep it straight. I included an example of how I use the organizer in my own classroom with the Treasures series story "David's New Friends." Enjoy!!
