Setting is the place and conditions in which something happens or exists.
Setting is an important component to be mastered to enhance any creative writing piece. An adequate setting can make or break a story and is usually the fabric behind a good piece of writing.
In this mini lesson students are acclimated to the various components of setting. Important details such as: sight, sound, taste, touch, and smell are offered in descriptive paragraphs so that students are subjected to proper usage.
This lesson includes several example paragraphs where students are required to pick out words that tell where, when, and establish mood. Finally students are asked to complete a paragraph of their own with components discussed.
