This is a helpful activity to help students learn how to set off a quotation with a comma while keeping valuable context information before quotation that is given. The quotations used in this packet are from To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.
After they complete it, have students use the model in this packet to find quotations in any book of their choosing.
In my classroom, students check out free reading books from the library, and bring them to class every day. They use these books to practice setting off quotations in their notebooks, using this packet to help them.
