This project is a quick, easy and fun way to assess student’s knowledge of setting in terms of literary elements. Students will be show case their knowledge in artwork as well as in written form. This project should be completed only after setting has been taught in the classroom.
As the teacher, you can model this project first using a picture book/chapter book you have read in class.
When introducing this project, remind students that their drawing as well as description needs to have details (textual support) which clearly represents where the story takes place.
Next, go over the direction page with the students. Showing them the graphic organizer and final copy. Make sure to make modifications or accommodations for students who need them.
