Product Description
Was the American Revolution inevitable? No, but a number of factors made it more likely. This PowerPoint draws on topics from throughout the growth of the American colonies to make the case. It covers five main causes: the Charter of the Virginia Company and colonial VA government, the Enlightenment ideas of men like John Locke and Jean Jacques Rousseau, the policy of mercantilism, Whiggish Ideology and the concept of "whiggish conspiracy," and the aftermath of the French and Indian War. This presentation is used in an AP United States history class and is based on elements of the first seven chapters of The American Pageant, 14th edition, most specifically the first part of Chapter 7.
