Setting the Table for Thanksgiving Lesson! I created this lesson for my Life Skils Class High School Students (grades 9-12), and it went so well that I created one for my younger students (grades 3rd to 5th). While I was teaching the lesson, some of the Teacher Assistants in the class requested copies for themselves and for their children to use! To be honest, I sometimes need to remind myself the correct way to set the table and the placement of all utensils and what great time to get started with setting the table than Thanksgiving.
So, in this lesson, I provided the two forms – formal and less formal with the directions. I also included pictures of a student completing the activity and then hanging the finished product in a cabinet as a visual reminder! Her mom commmented to me that she LOVES setting the table now and she often uses the picture! How great to independently want to help out like this!
I encourage you to send home the letter that I designed, included in this packet to the parents, as it will describe the activity, as well as help them to find a place that their children can keep the finished product!
I have found that this lesson is additionally great for following directions.
Enjoy! Any questions, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
