This product includes William Shakespeare's famous "Seven Ages of Man" poem from his play "As You Like It". In this product the poem, which includes room for annotations, questions to go with the poem, vocabulary related to the poem, and a 2-3 day project where students use Shakespeare's structure to write their own metaphorical poem based on "Seven Ages of Man". There is also a rubric for the student poem. The student poem is the bread and butter of this lesson. Students can essentially choose a subject they can relate to and use this as a metaphor for "Man". For example, many athletes write about the "Seven Ages of Baseball", and include each season of a baseballer's life, from T-Ball to the MLB, to show the growth that takes place over the course of one's life.
