These are materials that I used when I taught the novel Seven Daughters, Seven Sons by Barbara Cohen. I taught this novel to a seventh grade Language Arts class (both in a regular ed class and in a resource class) to complement the Social Studies curriculum. The novel is a bit of a Cinderella story set in Iraq, so it works well with any curriculum that is studying Middle Eastern culture. The kids loved this novel and referenced it often during the rest of the year.
The product contains my anticipation guide which asks students to determine which character traits a potential partner would have. The product also contains a questionnaire for the students' parents. After the novel is concluded, I gave the students their parents' questionnaire so they could compare the type of partner they would pick as compared to the answers their parents chose. Interesting conversations!
