Severe Weather Problem Based Learning (PBL for STEM)
Product Description
Problem Based Learning Unit for STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math).

Groups of students were charged with inventing a Weather Tool, and creating a prototype of their tool. Each member of the group was assigned a role: climatologist, meteorologist, historian, or topographer. Each student is responsible for presenting their specific part, but they are all responsible for understanding all of the content.

The teams are researching severe weather, causes and effects, locations of famous disasters and where the weather typically occurs. The students will also present safety and preparation for these emergencies, interesting facts and statistics, and weather predictions. They will be expected to present an innovative idea that shows how their idea will help; their presentation will utilize Web 2.0 technology.
