This pack of exit slips (a.k.a. exit tickets or exit cards) will allow you to easily gauge reading comprehension at various points in Carolyn Reeder's Reconstruction novel Shades of Gray. (This resource is part of my Shades of Gray novel unit
There are five different exit slips included, each to be used after students have finished a designated number of chapters in the book. The questions are specific to the story and cover the following skills:
-Cause and effect
-Compare and contrast
All five exit slips are designed to elicit a variety of responses, allowing teachers to choose whether to grade student work or simply use it as a discussion starter. These would also be great for literature circles!
I hope you and your students enjoy these engaging formative assessments!
