I love getting crafty at the holidays and now your students can too as they learn about shades of meaning.
How to Make:
- Give each student 6 lights. I recommend pre-cutting if you can. Just make sure not to cut off the black tab.
- Give the student a target word. For each word have the students state three synonyms, with increasing shades of meaning.
- If you want to separate the synonyms you can use the included ornaments. Write the target word on the ornament and then the synonyms on the lights. Continue that pattern for your strand.
- Once students have finished writing their words, they may decorate their bulbs and ornaments. Have students put some glue on the back of the black tabs of the lights and the hooks of the ornaments. Fold the tabs and hooks over a piece and yarn or ribbon and hang!
