How to Use the Product

Students must read the directions to either put words in order of intensity (weakest to strongest), or determine a weaker or stronger choice from a list of several words.
This game includes "easy" "medium" "difficult" and "surprise" questions for shades of meaning.

Examples:

Medium 100: Put the following words in order of intensity (weakest to strongest). (famished, hungry, starved)

Surprise 200: Which word is stronger than gobble? (devour, nibble, eat)
Answer: Verb, because in this sentence it is an action

If you find that the questions are too easy or difficult for your students, you can even EDIT the questions/answers! You are welcome to change these for PERSONAL use for shades of meaning. HOWEVER, you may not reproduce and sell as your own in any way with shades of meaning use or any other topic.

*This is a PowerPoint activity, but it also works perfectly with Smartboards!

*PLEASE NOTE that with this activity, you must keep track of the scores yourself. The scores/numbers will not grey out or disappear once selected. Any easy trick that students love is to let one of them be the “score keeper” for each team.
