Shades of Meaning Posters
Shades of meaning are seen in Common Core State Standards as early as Kindergarten where students can act out meanings of verbs that have similar actions.
This pack includes 5 pages of verbs and 5 pages of adjectives. You can print the full size page and create a bulletin board of posters, or you can cut out each column of words, laminate, and staple on a bulletin board.
Involve your students in this process and liven up their writing by providing them the “My Shades of Meaning” page in their writing folder. Students can “put to bed said” and other common words they use in their writing and use more vibrant verbs and adverbs. The possibilities are endless with shades of meaning! I hope this pack starts your writers and readers on the fun journey to find the multiple shades of meaning in words.
What is included?
**15 verb shades of meaning (said, walk, run, clap, jump, eat, etc.) both color and B&W
**15 adjective shades of meaning (smart, nice, good, sad, funny, mad, etc.) both color and B&W
**2 blank templates for verbs and adverbs so you can make your own word lists with students B&W and color
**2 B&W student shades of meaning recording pages to keep in writing folders
