These cards challenge students to come up with two words that offer more strength. I have an example on the card for student reference. To cover the second grade CCSS standard, students write shades of meaning for both adjectives and verbs. I've included the task cards in both color, a backgroundless option with the twisting and revolving hamster, and black & white!
Includes the Following Resources in Printable PDF Format:
•28 shades of meaning task cards in color
•28 shades of meaning task cards with a backgroundless option and color character

This resource covers the Common Core Standard for CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.2.5.B: Distinguish shades of meaning among closely related verbs (e.g., toss, throw, hurl) and closely related adjectives (e.g., thin, slender, skinny, scrawny).
If you would like to have task cards that cover every CCSS standard for second grade language (the grammar and vocabulary standards for second grade), I have a mega bundle that does that! These cards are included in the mega bundle. If you bought the mega bundle, you already got these cards. Click here to check out the Language Task Card Mega Bundle for Second Grade.
A note about these shades of meaning task cards: This comes in non-editable pdf. Sorry, I can not offer this editable due to copyright restrictions by some of the clip artists. Thank you for your understanding.
