These cards challenge students to come up with two words that offer more strength. I have an example on the card for student reference. To cover the second grade CCSS standard, students write shades of meaning for both adjectives and verbs. Additionally, these task cards are no prep and ready to use! No laminating, no cutting, even no printing! These digital task cards were created for use in Google Slides.
Did I also mention it can be used on tablets? Say what? Yup, you can use this on a tablet, computer, or you can even project them with a SMARTboard! In fact, this actual set, you could just use a projector and whiteboard, so no SMARTboard needed! Simply let the students use a dry erase marker on the board if you don't have access to a Smartboard. Of course, the whole whiteboard/ SMARTboard part is just one of the options. These can be used simply with just a computer or tablet because they are very versatile!
Not only that, but this resource stands out from simple apps on tablets because it automatically saves their work. That means you have access to assess their work!
•28 digital task cards that students can type directly on the card
•Student instructions (Digital and printable PDF)
•Instructions on how to download and use this resource
•Optional recording sheet in PDF format for printing
•Option to put the words in alphabetical order
If you already use Google Classroom, you only need to simply assign students a file and you are set!
If you are using it for teacher led instruction, you can use Google Drive also. Simply open the file and use it. You can project it with either a Smartboard, use a white board with a projector, or use a tablet or computer with a small group.
This resource covers the Common Core Standard for CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.2.5.B: Distinguish shades of meaning among closely related verbs (e.g., toss, throw, hurl) and closely related adjectives (e.g., thin, slender, skinny, scrawny).

What I LOVE about Google Apps When It Came to Creating This Resource:
•Their work saves automatically!
•Because their work saves automatically, its super easy to check their work (and not bring home a heavy bag full of paper clutter!)
•Kids love using technology. It's engaging!
•It can be used on a tablet too!
•It saves on ink costs!
***There are some technical requirements to use this resource. First off, this resource is in Google™ Slides format, so you will need to access to that software to use this resource. For teacher led instruction such as using a SmartBoard for whole instruction or a tablet while working with a small group, you can use Google Drive to access Google Slides. Google Drive is free to set-up with an email account. However, there are age restrictions with setting up an email. If you want students working in their own accounts/projects, you are going to need Google Classroom to access Google Slides. This resource is free too, but at this time, it is only available to non-profit educational institutions and you will need to get your school on board with it. If you don't have Google Classroom, please get with your tech department to set this up before purchasing this resource. You will also need internet access to use this resource. This resource is no prep to those who already have Google Drive or Google Classroom set-up.***
Please note, this resource is for personal, classroom use only. One license is for one teacher. Also, I am not affiliated or associated with Google, nor do they endorse this resource. This resource for compound words is simply a resource that can be used with their software/apps.
Thank you so much for stopping by the Candy Class!
